Biography

Brett joined Barlow Robbins LLP in 2010 and is a specialist technology and media lawyer.

Brett advises on all aspects of technology and media law, although his specialty is the regulated technology sectors such as the capital markets. Joining us from Mitsubishi UFJ Securities International plc where he worked in the capital markets, Brett has accrued a wealth of experience in this sector, with previous appointments at companies including Electronic Arts and BMG Music Publishing.

Brett is dual qualified in England & Wales and New South Wales Australia and has previously worked with Baker & McKenzie (Sydney and London) and the Australian firm Deacons (now Norton Rose). He has worked on deals in jurisdictions including France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, United States of America, Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Prior to joining Barlow Robbins LLP, Brett has worked in commercial radio and has lectured on subjects including music business and copyright at the Creative Arts School in Sydney. His interest in technology and media extends to being a trustee of CompassionArt, a charity which generates income from songwriter copyrights to help create freedom from poverty and is a member of the Society for Computers and Law.
