Catherine specialises in employment, human rights and discrimination law and has particular expertise in the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (DDA), having worked as Senior Legal Adviser with the Disability Rights Commission ("DRC").
She is regularly instructed by the Equality and Human Rights Commission, Law Centres, individuals, public authorities and employers and has appeared in the Employment Tribunal, County Courts, Employment Appeal Tribunal, Court of Appeal, House of Lords and Supreme Court.
She advises disability organisations and the EHRC on a regular basis on litigation and legal policy issues; and has a predominantly claimant based practice in non-employment discrimination, including services, public authority functions, particularly the equality duties, premises and education. She has also most recently been advising the Equality and Human Rights Commission on the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
Catherine is also recognised for her expertise in European discrimination law having spoken and written extensively on both European and domestic discrimination legislation.
