Christopher Wagstaffe has a particular expertise in ancillary relief cases involving offshore or similar trusts. He has appeared in many of the recent leading cases in this niche area, including Charalambous v Charalambous, A v A & St George Trustees and C v C (Ancillary Relief: Post-nuptial settlement: company shares). He has been involved in cases of this nature in the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, and was a major contributor to the ‘offshore trusts’ section of Duckworth’s Matrimonial Property and Finance.
Beyond the narrow field of offshore trusts, there is a significant international element to his practice both in relation to married and unmarried couples. He has lectured both nationally and internationally on various aspects of family law, has written widely on family law topics and was a contributor to Cohabitation and Trusts of Land (Ed Stephen Wildblood QC, Sweet & Maxwell 2006).
