David Bedingfield has a specialist practice in cases involving children. He has published extensively, both in the UK and the US, and his book 'The Child In Need: Children, the State and the Law' was described by the legal press as "invaluable to teachers of child care law," and "an essential purchase for all children law specialists". His other text "Advocacy in Family Proceedings"" (Family Law 2005) was "Highly recommended" by the New Law Journal.
David's practice includes representation of local authorities, parents or guardians in complex public law cases, and representation of parents and local authorities in cases involving international issues. He often advises in matters involving media coverage of children, including children involved in public law and care cases. He often appears in judicial review applications in cases where local authority duties to children are at issue. David lectures regularly on advocacy techniques and the international movement of children.
