Ian Kirby is the head of the Intellectual Property group in arnold & Porter's London office. His practice primarily covers IP disputes and cross-border contentious patent matters. He also deals with a wide range of copyright, trade mark and passing off disputes, comparative advertising, unfair competition, software infringement and internet domain name litigation. Ian has been involved in a number of high profile IP matters, including Baigent and Leigh v Random House, where he represented The Da Vinci Code author Dan Brown against claims of copyright infringement, and Numatic v Qualtex, where he represented Numatic in its successful passing off claim regarding its HENRY vacuum cleaners.
