John is an official CPDcast contributor and contributes to the following podcasts:
"a classy negotiator with an assured manner that enables him to quickly build a rapport with clients". (Chambers Legal Directory)
John is a specialist in the financial aspects of marriage and relationship breakdown, although I also work frequently with parents who are having difficulty in dealing with contact issues in relation to their children.
He tends to act for high net worth individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, and is frequently involved in cases involving trusts, and where there is an international element as well as pre- and post-nuptial agreements.
John’s view is that during the last decade or so, the practice of family law has evolved. Although it is still necessary in some cases to litigate, family solicitors now try to look for sensible ways of settling cases outside the court process. As such John is a trained collaborative lawyer, and in appropriate cases will work with both clients and a fellow family solicitor on the structuring of a financial settlement, having committed to avoid any applications to the court.
John is a Fellow of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the author of Butterworth's Guide to the New Ancillary Relief Rules
