Biography
Richard's status as a leading practitioner in the field of public and administrative law has been cemented since he was first rated a leading silk in Chambers Directory and the Legal 500 in 2002. He advises a wealth of clients on data protection, freedom of information, planning, environmental, compulsory purchase and public procurement matters. He also has a significant provenance in Health, Coroner's inquests and Local government. He recently appeared in Strasbourg in Marper v UK, regarding the retention of DNA from persons not charged with any offence. He co-authors The Law on Human Rights (OUP), Judicial Review Procedure (Hart) and Civil Actions against the Police (S&M).
