Biography

Richard qualified as a solicitor in 1985 and joined the city law firm, Travers Smith. He practised in the commercial litigation department and was made a partner in 1991. Richard had a broad general practice as a solicitor, covering all of the practice areas outlined above. Notable cases included acting for the Mirror Group Pension Trustees in the Maxwell litigation in the early 1990s. Richard transferred to the Bar in 1995 and continues to practice in all of the above practice areas. He is currently writing a book on Disability Discrimination in Employment with fellow member of chambers, Spencer Keen, which is due to be published later this year by O.U.P.
