Sally Field has been Deputy Director, responsible for Family Law & Justice at the Ministry of Justice for seven years. During that time she has developed policy and legislation in all areas of family law and brought about the implementation of change in the family courts. Her role has included negotiation of international law instruments on behalf of the UK. As Deputy Director, she regularly commissions research on family law to evidence base the development of Government policy. From it's inception as a Private Peers Bill, Sally was the principle adviser to Government Ministers on the legislation that became the Forced Marriage (Civil Protection) Act 2007. Working with the Family Procedure Rules Committee, she has overseen the development of the court Rules, Practice Directions and forms that support the Act. Sally speaks at local, regional and national events on Forced Marriage policy and law.
