Biography
Sara Watson is a Counsel in the litigation department of Ashurst. She specialises in commercial litigation and applications under the Companies Act 1985/2006 with a particular focus on disputes arising from corporate acquisitions and disposals, shareholders' disputes, experts determinations, reductions of capital, schemes of arrangement, transfers of insurance and banking business under Part VII of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and general advisory work on company law issues.
Sara has considerable experience in advising a wide range of corporate clients and financial institutions in relation to both shareholders' and creditors' schemes of arrangement both in a solvent and an insolvent context. Sara has advised on schemes proposed for a wide variety of purposes including take-overs/mergers, corporate/capital reorganisations, restructuring of debt, returning cash to shareholders, setting up new holding companies and achieving an effective mechanism for administrators to distribute assets to creditors.
