Biography
Stuart Brown is consistently listed in the professional guides as the leading personal injury and clinical negligence silk on the North East Circuit. Stuart took silk in 1991.
He has been involved in a number of high profile actions -the coal miners' respiratory disease litigation and hepatitis transfusion victims. Much of his present case load concerns cerebral palsy babies and alleged obstetric negligence but he continues to act in a wide range of litigation arising from road traffic and factory accidents as well as medical disasters.
He has always had a practice with an almost equal spread of claimant and defendant work and strongly believes this is an important attribute. He lectures widely and sits part time as a Deputy High Court Judge, Recorder and President of the Mental Health Review Tribunal.
