This podcast aims to outline the way in which the use of big data is increasingly being recognised as a key basis of competition and growth for individual firms. It sets out the scale and nexus of ‘big data’, the importance of market data in the financial services industry, the intellectual property rights that arise in data and considers when the law of confidence will intervene to protect information.
