This podcasts introduces the listener to the points based system and how the proposed interim and permanent limits on Non-European Immigration will implicate upon applicants, employers and sponsors.

The main part of the podcast provides an overview of the interim limits and explains the exceptional application procedure. In addition, it provides practical advice on responding to the interim policy and an explanation of how key stakeholders can engage in the consultation process.

The final part of the discussion provides an insight into aspects of the expected permanent limit to be introduced in 2011. Caron and Louise also provide practical advice to employers and sponsors on how to prepare for the proposed permanent limit when it is introduced.
