This podcasts introduces the listener to the basic concepts underlying how communication skills can be used effectively to improve communication by peers within Law Firms, with trainees and Associates and Partners and when liaising with clients. The podcast commences by providing an overview of the different language patterns that Lawyers tend to use and explains the theory of Language Models. Gwyn also outlines the concepts of Effective Communication “rapport”, “pacing” and “active-listening” are introduced to the listener and guidance is given on how Law Firms can ensure more effective communication when Associates and Partners liaise with Trainees. The podcast also considers how Lawyers can ensure more effective communication with peers in a Law Firm and explains how there are tiers of listening skills found in different levels of seniority. Throughout the podcast, Gwyn outlines how the concepts can be applied in practice to allow Law Firms to improve the communication skills of Trainees, Associates and Partners.
