Edward Denehan from 9 Stone Buildings provides practitioners with a tool with which to swiftly and accurately get up to speed with the procedural requirements of Chapter 1 of the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993 - the chapter dealing with collective enfranchisement in the case of tenants of flats. He outlines the requirements of the initial notice that commences the exercise of the right to collective enfranchisement, the saving provisions contained in the Act which do not invalidate an initial notice by any inaccuracy or by any misdescription and sets out the procedure to follow after the initial notice has been served.
