Course Aims:

The Payment Services Regulations are a significant landmark in EU Regulation and this podcast aims to summarise the content of the new rules. It aims to look, in particular, at the regulated activities covered by the Regulations, the requirements for the new category of payment institution, the issues relating to information requirements and the rights of both providers and consumers.

After completing the course you will:
  • Understand the new category of regulated institution, known as “payment institutions”;
  • Know what information must be provided by regulated institutions and the circumstances in which this must be done;
  • Know what a framework contract is and when this can be varied or terminated;
  • Understand when a transaction will be regarded as ‘authorised’ and the consequences of a transaction being ‘unauthorised’.
