This podcast aims to provide a wide-ranging and detailed outline and evaluation of the role of legal representatives in childcare proceedings. It explains the key procedural obligations borne by local authorities and respondents in preparing these cases, in particular with regard to case management conferences and allocation hearings. Duties to comply with time limits, disclosure requirements and filing and service of documents are discussed in detail. In addition, the podcast aims to discuss the relationship between childcare proceedings and related criminal cases, the role of experts and procedural requirements in placement order proceedings.
