On 30th April 2010, the Civil Procedure (Amendment) Rules 2010 and update 52 came into force. Now, central to this update is the introduction of the new Pre-Action Protcol for Low Value Personal Injury Claims in Road Traffic Accidents. In this podcast he examines the RTA Protocol which describes stage 1 and 2 of the new process, stage 3 namely the new practice direction that supports it (PD 8B Pre-action Protocol for Low Value Personal Injury Claims in Road Traffic Accidents) and finally the amendments to the CPR in particular the new section II in Part 36 (RTA Protocol Offers to Settle) and the new section VI in Part 45 which contains the new fixed-costs provisions.
